The 4 phases of crisis communication

1. Precursor

This very first step includes any warning signs or risk factors that have been observed but have not yet become critical; it is in fact the one which immediately precedes the crisis. This may include negative economic trends, social conflicts, fires and other natural disasters, public health problems, episodes of violence, etc. Crucial, it allows you to take measures to minimize risks before the crisis occurs!

2. Triggering

This second stage is the pivot moment, when the crisis is triggered by an event or series of events with a significant impact on people, organizations or even society. The immediate consequences must then be assessed and the first elements of response are then put in place according to the observations. It is a phase marked by uncertainty, anxiety and confusion; it is therefore necessary to have effective and pre-established communication to inform the people concerned and direct them towards the best paths.

3. Climbing

Third stage and not the least since this is the moment when the crisis intensifies with more serious consequences and higher risks for the targeted people and/or organizations. Efforts must then be increased to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and with the best possible solutions.

4. The resolution

The crisis is resolved here. The consequences have been managed and activities have gradually returned to their normal course... This phase can also include recovery activities to return to a normal level of activity. Of course, he
